Digital Marketing Interns Job in Kenya - Ekabel

Are you the kind of person who spots a bug before anyone complains, keeps systems smooth under pressure, and turns technical chaos into clean, reliable workflows?

Do you think in databases, debug in your sleep, and love making products stable and secure?
Ekabel Limited is looking for an
IT Intern to support the growth and technical operations of ekarihub, a next-gen ecosystem connecting agribusiness, wildlife and green living

Your Role & Impact

This role goes beyond “IT support.” You’ll help strengthen ekarihub’s platform stability and reliability, support development and testing workflows, ensure secure operations, and improve the overall tech environment that powers ekarihub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for the ekarihub mobile and web platform (internal team + user issues)
  • Monitor platform performance and uptime and respond to technical feedback from users
  • Support the development team by testing new features, identifying bugs and documenting issues clearly
  • Assist with system maintenance, updates and performance optimization to keep the platform stable
  • Help manage databases, backups, APIs and integrations to ensure smooth data flow and reliability
  • Support cybersecurity and safe operations: user access control, data protection and basic security practices
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues (devices, connectivity, internal tools)
  • Assist in setting up devices, networks and internal IT tools for smooth team operations
  • Propose tech improvements, automation ideas and efficiency solutions to reduce recurring problems and speed up work

Qualifications

You’ll thrive if you have:

  • Solid understanding of IT systems (software, hardware, networks)
  • Basic–intermediate coding skills (PHP/JavaScript/Python/HTML/CSS)
  • Familiarity with databases (MySQL/SQL/Firebase or similar)
  • Experience supporting mobile or web platforms is an added advantage
  • Comfort with APIs, integrations, and testing tools/workflows
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with proactive communication and teamwork
  • Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering (or related)
  • Prior internship/projects in tech support or software development is a plus
  • Agribusiness industry knowledge is an advantage (not required)

Why Join ekarihub?

Join a high-impact African tech platform where you’ll work on real-world systems, app support and development workflows, not just theory. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced developers and tech leadership, build a portfolio of practical work (features tested, bugs solved, integrations supported) and grow fast as ekarihub scales across Kenya and beyond, at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and green innovation.
