Tracking Clerk Job in Nairobi - Kenya Builders & Concrete

Tracking Clerk monitoring fleet tracking devices and vehicle locations, requiring a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Operations Management with at least 2 years relevant tracking experience and a current Police Clearance Certificate, in a logistics/construction environment, on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all fleet tracking devices are active.
  • Track fleet locations by GPS in real time/historically and share incident reports.
  • Monitor driver speed, locations, distance, fuel use, areas visited, mileage, issues and vehicle usage; recommend fleet/usage/policy adjustments.
  • Assist with fleet scheduling, forecasting and surveying current user trends.
  • Ensure drivers comply with company regulations.
  • Identify on-road exceptions/emergencies; liaise with the Logistics Planner/security on alternative routes and remedial action.
  • Liaise with drivers, operations and management to ensure goods are delivered as ordered/directed.
  • With the Logistics Planner/HOD, implement, maintain and support policies/processes for effective fleet operations.
  • Support fleet-management digitisation; ensure no data loss/delays and accurate fleet information.
  • Develop and present vehicle-tracking management reports to the Logistics Planner.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in IT, electronics, operations management or related field.
  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain and logistics, or data analysis
  • Relevant security training in military/police or another relevant field – Added advantage
  • At least 2 years’ relevant tracking experience in the same industry. 
  • At least 1 year’s hands-on weighbridge operations experience – Added advantage
  • Experience in large-scale tracking environments such as fleet management. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest electronic tracking systems.
  • Current Police Clearance Certificate is mandatory.
