Role Description
- The
Storekeeper role at QMP is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi.
- The
Storekeeper will manage daily receiving, unloading, and storage of
materials and products, ensuring accurate documentation and safe handling.
Responsibilities include organizing and packing stock, maintaining proper
inventory records in the system, and conducting regular stock checks to
reconcile physical and recorded quantities.
- The
Storekeeper will coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics
teams to ensure timely availability of supplies, proper rotation of stock,
and adherence to hygiene, safety, and halal-compliance standards in the
storage areas.
- The
role also involves operating material-handling equipment when required,
maintaining cleanliness in the store, and reporting any discrepancies,
damages, or shortages.
Qualifications
- Candidates
should possess strong Inventory Control and Inventory Management skills,
including stock tracking, record keeping, and reconciliation.
- Candidates
should possess practical skills in Packing and organizing goods to
maintain product integrity and efficient use of storage space.
- Candidates
should possess hands-on experience with Unloading procedures and safe
material handling practices.
- Candidates
should possess competency in Forklift Operation or other relevant
material-handling equipment, with appropriate safety awareness.
- Candidates
should have prior experience in a warehouse, storekeeping, or logistics
environment, preferably within food or manufacturing sectors.
- Candidates
should demonstrate attention to detail, basic numeracy, and familiarity
with inventory software or ERP systems.
- Candidates
should be able to follow hygiene, safety, and halal-compliance protocols
and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- A
relevant vocational qualification, certificate in storekeeping or
warehouse operations, and knowledge of ISO or similar standards are
beneficial.
