The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in retail merchandising, particularly within FMCG or food retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend to customers professionally and handle
sales transactions accurately
- Weigh, package, label, and display cereals and
related products
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene,
and food safety within the shop
- Manage basic stock control, including monitoring
stock levels and reporting shortages
- Handle cash, mobile money, and POS transactions
responsibly
- Maintain proper product arrangement, shelf
organization, and visual merchandising
- Support in product promotions and in-store
visibility initiatives
- Coordinate with fellow shop attendants and
supervisors to ensure smooth operations
- Track and report daily sales performance and
stock movement
- Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales
targets
Minimum Qualifications &
Requirements
- Minimum KCSE certificate
- Previous experience working in a retail shop,
cereals shop, FMCG outlet, or as a merchandiser is highly preferred
- Basic numeracy skills and strong customer
service orientation
- Honest, reliable, and well-groomed with good
interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including
weekends if required
- Physically fit and comfortable with standing for
extended periods
