Finance Intern Job in Kenya - Victoria Homestore

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Intern with Part CPA qualification to support data verification, reconciliations, and documentation during the implementation of a new ERP system. The role will provide hands-on exposure to financial operations, controls, and ERP processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy, completeness, and validity of receipts, vouchers, and supporting documents for expenses.
  • Review, process, and file vendor invoices ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal controls.
  • Assist with data entry into the ERP system, ensuring transactions are captured accurately and posted correctly.
  • Support data verification, reconciliations, and clean-up activities related to the new ERP implementation.

  • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable reconciliations.
  • Support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports.
  • Assist in maintaining accounting records within the existing ERP system.
  • Scan, upload, and manage documents on SharePoint and ensure orderly digital and physical filing.
  • Assist with petty cash processing, including preparation of petty cash vouchers.
  • Assist in preparing payment requisitions and writing cheques for authorized payments.
  • Support the payment processing team and month-end financial close activities.
  • Assist during internal and external audits by availing required documentation and schedules.
  • Run departmental errands as required and perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least CPA qualification (CPA II) is required.
  • Fresh or recent graduate with up to 2 years post-graduation experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with ERP systems.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
