The Project Procurement and Logistics Officer will support the organization’s project procurement functions by ensuring timely, transparent, and cost-effective procurement of goods, works, and services in compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.
- Furthermore, he/she will
be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of supply chain,
ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods and materials.
Duties
- Support the development
and execution of annual procurement and inventory plans for the projects
- Prepare requests for
quotations (RFQs), invitations to bid (ITBs), and requests for proposals
(RFPs) as required
- Research and evaluate
potential suppliers and vendors based on quality, price, delivery
timelines, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and
terms with vendors to secure the most advantageous deals for the
organisation.
- Prepare, organise, and
maintain complete procurement and inventory files. Ensure all
documentation is audit-ready and meets organisational standards.
- Track procurement
requests and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Ensure all procurement
processes comply with Agriterra’s procurement policies.
- Adhere to donor
regulations and applicable local laws throughout procurement activities.
- Liaise with the Finance
teams for coordination and payment processing.
- Provide regular
procurement and inventory reports to management and project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or
Diploma in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management,
or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of
relevant procurement experience, preferably in an NGO or donor-funded
agricultural program.
- Familiarity with donor
procurement guidelines (e.g., USAID, EU, DFID, World Bank).
- Professional
certification (e.g., CIPS) is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Excel and
procurement software/tools.
- High level of integrity,
accountability, and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English
(speaking and writing), additional languages are an asset
