Overall Purpose of the Job
To
support field operations of the RMRN-EA through technical backstopping of
agroecological innovations being tested in the living labs.
Specific duties
The
successful candidate is expected to:
- Lead the technical backstopping and capacity
building to national partners, extension officers, and model farmers on
innovations under validation in the living labs.
- Manage field equipment and resources.
- Undertake bioassays in laboratory, screenhouse,
and under field conditions as assigned by supervisor.
- Lead the team rearing pests and parasitoids for
experiments and field release.
- Collate field data remitted by partners via the
ODK platform.
- Undertake exploratory data analyses, data
visualisation, and drafting reports.
- Draft manuscripts and support science
communication.
- Spearhead dissemination activities through
planning and execution of exhibitions during stakeholder engagement
events, including field days and agricultural.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned by
the supervisor(s)
Requirements/ qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in facilitating
field operations.
- Experience in rearing and field release of
insects.
- Experience in multi-stakeholder engagements
across countries, in a research for development environment.
- Experience in drafting reports and manuscripts.
- Ability to manage field equipment and resources.
