Community Centre Coordinator Job in Kenya - Swahilipot Hub

Position Overview

The Community Centre Coordinator oversees Vijana2 Thrive delivery across Kilifi by enrolling and orienting youth, offering age-appropriate services, and establishing support groups that respond to marginalized populations.

Scope of Role

Coordinate day-to-day centre operations, manage enrolment pipelines, facilitate psychosocial and mentorship support, and liaise with county-level stakeholders to ensure youth in Kilifi access holistic Vijana2 Thrive services.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate enrolment for young people, ensuring program expectations and offerings are clearly communicated.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentoring that keeps youth groups cohesive and aligned with programme goals.
  • Establish and facilitate support groups tailored to marginalized cohorts, including PWDs and refugees.
  • Serve as an information and referral resource, directing youth to external services or specialists as needed.
  • Advocate for participant rights and well-being, especially in cases requiring specialized interventions.

  • Offer psychosocial support that addresses emotional and mental well-being as part of holistic development.
  • Monitor progress, set achievable milestones, and mentor participants toward successful completion of program milestones.
  • Maintain accurate county-level records and files, complying with data management protocols.
  • Document case studies and success stories for reporting and impact assessment.
  • Coordinate field activities with County and Sub-County stakeholders to build partnerships and collaboration.
  • Prepare detailed activity reports and periodic progress updates that track programme performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in community coordination, centre management, or youth-focused projects.
  • Experience managing community spaces or multipurpose facilities is an added advantage.
