Job Purpose Statement

To deliver exceptional performance through;

  • Champion sales and utilization of Cash Management and eBanking solutions as the preferred delivery channels in the bank. Initiate strategies and products which will ensure growth of Non- Funded Income (NFI), Drive Growth of Liabilities and related Net Interest Income (NFI).
  • Co-ordinating Sales initiatives with the Relationship Managers/Officers/Analysts of the bank and provide support in growing liabilities and transactional business.
  • Co-ordinate with Cash Management client support team to offer exceptional customer service while Liaising with IT and operations team to ensure smooth running of the cash management products.
  • Enhancing the cash management customer product uptake through on boarding and training, new and existing customers.

Business Development & Liquidity Management 50%


  • Work closely with Corporate Banking relationship team on fully embedding cash management solutions into the customer business.
  • Co-ordinate Sales, Product Management, Customer Service, It and Operations to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Responsible and accountable for product revenue realization.
  • Become the Customers trusted advisor for the delivery of the Internet Banking Channels and Cash management solutions.
  • Advise the bank management on any new developments in the Ebanking and cash management front to keep pace with competition.
  • Drive and deliver exceptional sales performance by identifying and meeting customer needs through selling & cross selling of Specific Cash Management Products & Services.
  • Identify cross–sell opportunities when making customer contact so as to maximize the customer value from each interaction.
  • Champion product and sales activities to drive business growth.

Business Planning and Strategy

  • Develop and manage a robust cash management deal pipeline with a 70% closure rate.
  • Provide MIS and metrics on progress of deals managed and provide input to management on customers implementation progress and issues, for discussion with Sector heads and Relationships Managers.
  • Support in the development and execution of strategic client plans and drive the implementation of client plans.
  • Develop and prepare standard proposals and presentations for banking services that will be pitched to potential clients.
  • Liaise with the bank developers and partners to continuously promote and design competitive products for the bank.
  • Become the point of reference for clients and bank on the cash management initiatives.
  • Implement Ebanking and Cash product solutions to clients, of varying size and complexity.
  • Assess and recommend pricing guidelines for Cash Management products and channels to ensure that we remain competitive and at the same time increasing overall revenue collection.

Customer and Service management

  • Maintain a high standard of project implementation discipline to ensure speed to revenue during implementation by providing leadership to all stakeholders to deliver on project items within agreed timelines.
  • Systematically coordinate together with Implementation team implementation project plans, through a well- documented Client Requirement Document on the Basis of the Business Requirement Document (BRD).
  • Create exceptional channel experience for customers by executing seamless channel implementation and managing effective handover process to the client support team for post-implementation support.
  • Ensure implementation project completion document is signoff by all client and internal stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate resolution of cash management related problems within the agreed TAT.
  • Offer product training to customers and relevant colleagues across the bank.

Cost Containment

  • Ensure Return on Equity is achieved for all investments on client solutions by driving to achieve maximum share of wallet (SOW) for cash management products.
  • Ensure our Cost of Funds are effectively managed by pursuing and retaining cheap liabilities through utilisation of Cash management solutions.
  • Ensure prudent use of bank resources such as taxis and during customer events such as lunches.

Ideal Job Specifications

Academic:

  • University Degree in a Business/IT Related Field – Minimum Upper 2nd Class Honours
  • A masters degree will be an added advantage

Professional:

  • ACIB/AKIB Banking qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • A professional qualification in IT or project management field is an added advantage.

Desired work experience:

  • 5 years plus in client management / Product/ Relationship management
  • Prior experience in Fintech Business development will be desired
