Deputy Finance Officer Grade 14 (2 posts) -EU/DVC/AFP/2025 -0926
Applicants MUST have the following
academic/professional qualifications and requirements:
- Must have a Master’s degree in finance or
related field
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in finance or
related field.
- Must be Certified Public Accountant (CPA -K) or
its equivalent
- Must be a member of a relevant professional body
and in good standing.
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant
work experience, five (5) of which must be at senior level
- Strong knowledge of International Public Sector
Accounting Standards, accounting principles, financial regulations, and
budgeting.
- Must have Proficiency in accounting software and
ERPs (e.g. Microsoft Dynamic 365
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and
problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight
deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of
budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support the Chief Finance Officer in the
management of financial records, including accounts payable and
receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly,
and annual financial reports
- Participate in financial audits and ensure
compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and
ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
- Assist in maintenance of effective accounting
systems in the university in line with the Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP).
- Assist in formulation and implementation of the
departmental strategic plan.
- Oversee cash flow management and banking
operations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of
financial policies and procedures.
- Support payroll processing and related financial
activities.
- Help identify areas for cost reduction and
efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate with other departments to provide
financial guidance and support.
- Assist Chief Finance Officer in Supervision of
the Finance Department staff
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the
Chief Finance Officer.
