Nurse Job in Kenya

Responsibilities

As a nurse at our company clinic, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities. These include providing immediate medical attention to employees, administering first aid, handling clinical emergencies, coordinating medical assessments with external doctors, and reporting workplace injuries to the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and insurance companies.

You will promote health awareness campaigns within the company and follow up on disability compensation claims.

In addition to maintaining and refilling first aid kits, you will offer first aid guidance to staff and perform routine medical procedures.

Your role as a nurse is pivotal in supporting health and safety initiatives and protocols, which are crucial for maintaining a healthy workforce. You will also be responsible for ordering and interpreting medical, laboratory, and imaging tests.

Your duties will include conducting first-aid training sessions for employees and referring medical emergencies to other doctors.

Accurate documentation and record-keeping are essential – You will maintain confidential medical records while developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to employees’ needs.

Lastly, you will submit monthly injury reports to the Head of Department, ensuring all major and minor incidents are accurately documented and reviewed.

Qualifications


Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Clinical Medicine from a recognised institution.

Practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya or Clinical Officer Council of Kenya.

Extensive knowledge of work-related injuries and illnesses, such as respiratory conditions, noise-induced hearing loss, toxic exposures, musculoskeletal disorders, and mental health disorders.

Knowledge of workplace ergonomics.

Understanding of Occupational Medicine Legislation (OSHA Act).

Certificate of good conduct.
