Responsible for handling member deposits and withdrawals, processing cash and other financial transactions, verifying transaction documents, balancing cash at the end of the day, maintaining accurate records, responding to member enquiries, and ensuring the security of cash and transaction information. Requires a Diploma in Cooperative Management, Banking and Finance, or a related business course The position is based in Kilifi and requires on-site work.
Job Purpose
- The
teller facilitates effective and efficient money and money instruments
transactions for customers, processing receipts and payments as well as
maintaining efficient and accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving
cash from the supervisor and taking full responsibility and
accountability.
- Updating
of treasury book and Mpesa register
- Maintaining
Security vigilance on suspicious members/visitors
- Identification
of counterfeit money/instruments and reporting
- Accurate
posting of cash and non-cash transactions to respective MPAs and
verification
- Providing
exemplary customer services at the tellers’ service point.
- Preparation
of accurate daily reports, submission for checks, filing and ensuring safe
custody and smooth retrieval when need be
- Performing
M-PESA transactions, updating manual M-Pesa register and system posting
- Any
other duties/assignments given from time to time by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree in business and any related field (finance, accounting, banking)
Professional Qualifications /
Membership to professional bodies
- CPA
II
Previous relevant work experience
required.
