The
Field HSE Supervisor offers expert knowledge and skills in
order to generate and promote a positive health, safety and Environment
culture. This represents a key role in helping control occupational risk/Impact
on the rig to achieving Perfect HSE day every day.
- Full oversight of safe operations on a drilling and completion work
site, including rig operations, as well as a supporting maintenance yard.
- Bring added value in HSE application to the Integration &
Solutions projects.
- Apply HSE ‘Best Practice’ at all project sites, in line with Client,
BH and BH I&S Management Systems.
- Ensure coherent HSE approach by all contracted parties operating in
the project – manage application of the HSE interface.
- Support contractor HSE reps to ensure effectiveness and alignment
with project objectives
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise directly with field operational supervisors to ensure the
safe operation of drilling and completion activity, and supporting
activity. This includes drilling and completion rig operations.
- Manage, apply and ensure adherence with Client and Baker Hughes
HSE policies and procedures, and assist the contracted services to
comply with the same.
- Promote, with the management, a safety culture within the workplace
in accordance with the industry best practices.
- Lead / participate effectively in the site various HSE meetings,
present safety data and statistics, communicate HSE alerts and lessons
learnt, and discuss issues related to HSE with the crew.
- Perform, verify and follow up with site inspections as required.
Ensure that all inspections are performed in accordance with Client and
Baker Hughes requirements and generate a Remedial Work plan (RWP) / Action
Tracker (AT) for non-compliance.
- Monitor the work environment and watch out for the safety of all
workers to protect them from entering hazardous situations, particularly
during work performed under specific PTW requirements.
- Assist in coordinating operations on rig moves, and participate in
rig move convoys. Confirm the validity personnel competency, rig move
equipment and vehicles certificates.
- Report all incidents, accidents and near misses/ HIPO immediately
and lead the investigation and analysis process. Compile incidents reports
and communicate the investigation results as required.
- Verify that risk assessments are prepared properly, valid,
implemented, communicated to all relevant individuals, and are reviewed
and updated as required.
- Promote Safety Observation System and support contractor in
administration as required. Ensure all observation data is captured,
analysed to identify trends and behavioural understanding, and actions
assigned where necessary. Recommend activities and changes to; promote
Best Practice, eliminate or reduce actual and potential losses.
- Verify Permit to Work (PTW) system is implemented and followed by
all crew, and perform PTW audits as required.
- Conduct site HSE inductions for all crew and visitors.
- Ensure all crew are certified as per Client and Baker Hughes
training matrixes, and conduct refresher training as required.
- Verify site H2S and Fire contingency provisions are adequate and
effective.
- Train and carry out emergency drills and exercises on how to manage
all emergency situations.
- Verify that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use,
and have valid documentations if required.
- Perform, suggest and follow up with HSE initiatives/ Campaigns as
required.
- Ensure that all HSE related documentations are completed, and
updated as required.
- Ensure that all Remedial Work plan (RWP) / Action Tracker (AT) items
are SMART. Follow up, verify the closure and communicate them to all
relevant parties.
Qualifications &
Experience
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline
from an accredited university or relevant industry experience.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with at least
5+ years in Environmental Health & Safety
- Being comfortable working on a rotational schedule and being located
on the rig site
- Being competent to plan, problem solve, organize, direct and control
wellsite operations. Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork
across multiple Product Lines, functions, external parties
- Have a good leadership, excellent interpersonal, influencing and
planning skills will be considered necessary for this position.
- Have an excellent English oral and written communications skills,
including ability to organize meetings and distributing accurate and
succinct minutes of meetings.
- Be skilled in functional use of MS Office Suite, with MS Project
familiarity is required.
- Willing and able to frequently travel to remote field locations.
- Ability to manage, develop, coach and mentor high level teams across
organizational boundaries is required.
- Proven personnel development skills will be required in this
role
