Tender Officer Job in Kenya - Trident Insurance

Overall Responsibility

The role holder will be responsible for leading a team in sourcing for and processing tender and Request for Quote (RFQ) documents and in undertaking all bidding activities inclusive of pricing on behalf of Trident Insurance Company Limited (TICL).

The incumbent will also have the responsibility to ensure necessary follow ups are done in getting feedback on successes upon award and = failures in the bidding process.

The officer will prepare presentations to the Tender Committee and supervise tender documents preparation.

Duties


  • Sourcing for relevant tenders through gathering relevant information on active tender notifications from various sources
  • Identify and list all tenders which Trident Insurance Company (TICL) qualifies to bid.
  • Prepare written proposals, Request for quotes, financial proposals, pricing of tenders based on intelligence gathered and attach all the relevant documentation
  • Ensures all relevant documentation for bid proposals is complete and accurate
  • Identify and manage all the pre-qualifications and present them to the management for review and approval
  • Coordinate and communicate proposal / Tender physical document delivery as appropriate and costing requirements to meet proposal due dates while raising, tracking and documenting issues
  • As appropriate download tender into IFMIS as it shall be required
  • Ensure all technical, commercial andcontractual correspondence with Suppliers are efficiently addressed and closed out.
  • Keep tender deadlines and deliver before time
  • Contribution in cost and price calculations
  • Coordination of tender reviews and deadlines and adjust them to the frame works given
  • Strive to attain the set annual targeted amount for medical andnon-motor tenders

  • Internal and external contacts the jobholder must make for the successful performance of his/her job, the purpose and the nature of his/her communication, whether it is oral, written, e.g. circular, meetings or reports, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field from a recognized institution
  • Master’s degree in business management
  • Professional qualification in insurance field; AIIK, ACII or Diploma – IIK
  • Professional qualifications in CPA, CFA, ACCA or ACA

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience
  • Knowledge of East Africa regulatory regime for insurers.
  • Previous experience in Sales and marketing or social media marketing 
  • Good understanding of Tender Management Process
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both written and spoken
  • Experience in insurance company
  • Membership to the Chartered Insurance Institute/ Insurance Institute of Kenya/ Institute of
  • Certified Investments and Financial Analysts or equivalent professionalbody in good standing.
