Accounts Assistant and Administration Job in Kenya (40-50K)

Gross Salary: Kshs 40,000-50,000,

Our client is a leading provider of fire protection equipment, systems installation, and mechanical engineering services across East Africa. They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Accountants Assistant and Administration professional. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records in line with corporate governance and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high level of competence, accountability, and initiative. You should be capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively within a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, financial reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, and other tax obligations
  • Support budget preparation, financial forecasting, and internal/external audits
  • Maintain proper financial documentation and records
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks for bookkeeping and reporting
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support business decision-making.
  • Handle payroll processing, vendor payments, and inventory tracking for our stocks, engineering and supply projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize financial processes and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, audits, and financial analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry (e.g., engineering, supply chain, or services).
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (advanced knowledge is highly advantageous).
  • CPA or ACCA qualification is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles, with exposure to IFRS, tax compliance, and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a full-time, onsite role, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
