- One per County (Baringo County)
- One per Constituency (in the listed
Constituencies with by-elections )
- Two per County Assembly Ward (in listed CAWs
with by-elections)
Requirements
- A voter educator must be a
resident of the County / Constituency/ Ward where the by-election is
taking place.
- Must be a speaker of the main language of
communication used by residents of the electoral unit,
- Possess a diploma and above in relevant field
(Social Sciences/Project Management),
- Minimum of 3 years- experience in voter
education, community mobilization or social work in respective by-election
electoral unit,
- Must be mature, respectable and non-partisan
with exceptional understanding and knowledge of civil society
organizations, geography, and socio-cultural economic and political
dynamics of the County/Constituency/Ward.
- Proof of having successfully conducted voter
education activities or informal training in collaboration with existing
social networks within the Electoral unit,
- Demonstrable interest in electoral processes
- Proven commitment to the values of patriotism,
nation-building, good governance, democracy, human rights and gender
equity.
- Must NOT be
engaged in any other job during the contract period and must commit to
work exclusively for the IEBC under the stipulated terms and conditions of
service,
- Working knowledge of computers, social media and
digital platforms, and
- Proven report writing skills
Job Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting
to the County Elections Manager/ Constituency Returning Officer:
County/ Constituency Voter Educator will :
- Assist in the recruitment and training of
Ward-based voter educators
- Supervise Constituency/ Ward-Based Voter
Educators.
- Receive and distribute voter education,
information, communication and publicity materials
- Map and engage state and non-state partners
organizations such as media agencies, Civil Society Organizations,
Community Based Organizations, Religious Organizations, Government
ministries and opinion shapers/influencers.
- Identify and engage public benefit organizations
serving marginalized groups such as women, youth, persons with
disabilities, elderly and ethnic minorities.
- Conduct voter education through face to face
meetings, mainstream and Social media platforms
- Represent the RO in partner organized forums/
meetings
- Draw work plans and performance Agreements with
Ward-based voter educators
- Hold work progress review meetings with
Ward-based voter educators and address concerns raised by the public
- Assist the RO in conducting briefing sessions
for accredited voter education providers, Election observers and Media
Practitioners
- Receive, consolidate and address election
related concerns raised by the public.
- Compile voter education, partnerships, and
communications and stakeholder engagement reports in collaboration with
Ward-based voter educators for review by the RO.
- Submit a County/ Constituency based report to
the RO upon completion of the voter education exercise.
- Any other duties assigned by the RO
