Job Description
- This position is primarily responsible for
     assisting the finance managers in the smooth operations of the finance
     department by overseeing and providing support to the finance team. The
     position is also responsible for ensuring that the management of the
     financial and accounting practices, systems and controls conform to all
     applicable statutory requirements, IFRS requirements and best industry
     practice.
- This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
An
overview of the duties and responsibilities of the role are outlined as below:
- Financial accounting and management
- Oversee the payables’ function.
- Oversee treasury management function including
     bank reconciliations.
- Assist in supervising and management of the
     credit control function.
- Oversee fixed assets management including
     physical verification and accuracy of asset register.
- Oversee accurate and timely preparation and
     filing of statutory returns and making payments.
- Ensure correct accounting principles are applied
     to transactions and recommend revisions in accounting policies and
     procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory
     laws.
- Assist in implementing new processes as and when
     required.
- Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts and related
     reports.
- Be involved in the preparation and/or review of
     various balance sheet and P&L schedules including capital expenditure
     and store reports.
- Prepare required group reports.
- Prepare any other reports that may be required.
- Budgets, Statutory audits and Compliance
- Be involved in preparing annual budgets and
     forecasts.
- Be involved in, to the extent required oversee
     annual entity audits, including assisting in preparation and reviewing
     preparation of
- financial statements and tax computations.
- Oversee correct preparation of various statutory
     tax schedules and ensure timely payments.
- Be involved in handling all tax and legal
     matters including tax and statutory audits as and when they arise.
- Review and implement any actions required from
     internal and external audit reports.
- Ensure compliance with various regulations and
     authorities as well as with other third-party covenants.
- Assist in risk management and development of
     objectives.
- In charge of handling the document management
     system and record maintenance.
- Undertake any ad hoc duties which may be
     assigned from time to time.
- Employee and stake holders management
- Assist the finance managers in mentoring and
     coaching the team.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or
     related field.
- ACCA/ CPA (K) or equivalent finance
     qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
- Computer literate with strong skills in
     Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem
     solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Kenyan laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana will be a
     strong added advantage.
- Preferably a Kenyan citizen or Kenyan resident.
