Principal Admin Job in Kenya - County Government of Tana River

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

  • Managing and coordinating the day-to-day administrative and executive operations of the office;
  • Ensuring efficient communication between the County Executive, departments, and external stakeholders;
  • Overseeing the preparation of high-level correspondence, reports, and policy briefs for the Executive Office;
  • Ensuring a professional and efficient working environment within the Office of the County Secretary;
  • Compiling periodic administrative and operational reports for the County Secretary;
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and official records;
  • Supervising departmental administrative teams; and
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment


For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Served as an Administrative Officer Job Group “Q” or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Office Management, Communication, or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Office Management, Communication, or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution is an added advantage;
  • Demonstrated administrative competence and integrity in previous assignments;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; and
  • Certificate in Supervisory/Management course.
