Principal Administrative Officer Job in Kenya - Tana River CPSB

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

  • Coordinating, managing, and supervising the general administrative functions in the Ward unit;
  • Developing policies and plans;
  • Ensuring effective service delivery;
  • Coordinating developmental activities to empower the community;
  • Providing and maintaining infrastructure and facilities of public service;
  • Managing the County Public Service;
  • Facilitating and coordinating citizen participation in the development of policies, plans, and delivery of services;
  • Exercising any functions and powers delegated by the County Public Service Board;
  • Reporting to the Sub-County Administrator; and
  • Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment


For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Served in the grade of Chief Administration Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
  • Public Administration
  • Business Administration
  • Political Science / Government

Or

  • equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; an
  • Certificate in computer application skills.
