Accounts Intern Job in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform bank and ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Support the finance team in daily bookkeeping and data entry into the accounting system.
  • Help with invoicing, payment processing, and following up on outstanding receivables.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in preparation of statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, SHIF, NSSF).
  • Participate in internal audits and assist with implementing audit recommendations.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting department as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve accuracy.

Key Requirement Skills And Qualification


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of post-graduation work experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an added advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
