Qualifications
- is a certified
public secretary of good professional standing;
- satisfies the
provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
- is not a state
or public officer;
- has not, at any
time within the preceding five years, held office, or stood for election
as—
- a member of
Parliament or of a county assembly; or
- a member of the
governing body of a political party;
- is, or has at
any time been, a candidate for election as a member of Parliament or of a
county assembly;
- is, or has at
any time been, the holder of an office in any political organisation that
sponsors or otherwise supports, or has at any time sponsored or otherwise
supported, a candidate for election as a member of Parliament or of a
county assembly;
- possesses a
minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and working
experience of not less than five (5) years; and
- is a
professional, demonstrates absence of breach of the relevant professional
code of conduct.

Required
Documents Each application must be accompanied by:
- a detailed
curriculum vitae;
- certified true
copies of academic and professional certificates (degree certificates from
non-Kenyan universities must be accompanied by an approval of the degrees
from the Commission for University Education);
- a copy of the
applicant’s National Identity Card or valid Passport; and
- testimonials
and other relevant supporting documents.
- Clearance
Certificates Applicants are required to attach current and valid clearance
certificates from the following institutions as part of their application:
- The Kenya
Revenue Authority (KRA);
- The Higher
Education Loans Board (HELB);
- A Credit
Reference Bureau (CRB);
- The Directorate
of Criminal Investigations (DCI);
- The Ethics and
Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
