Overview
The
Procurement Officer will be responsible for procurement, administration and
logistics management function in the organization. He/She will coordinate the
procurement process in compliance with the organization’s procurement policies
and procedures and donor requirements, contract and supplier management, carry
out all logistics activities, asset management and submit reports pertaining to
procurement plan and supplier performance. They will work closely with all
other departments/projects.
Qualifications
- Degree in
Procurement and Supplies Chain Management
- A Master’s
Degree will be an added advantage
- 5 years minimum
experience preferably in an international NGO in Administration or
Logistics
- Membership with
professional body (KISM, CIPS) in good standing
Competencies:
- Good knowledge
of USAID and other major donor procurement regulations is an added
advantage
- Proficient with
Microsoft Office – Excel & Outlook a must
- Good
interpersonal and communication skills
- Good
organization skills and attention to detail
- Good negotiator
- Ability to be
resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
- Ability to
organize, multitask, prioritize, work under pressure with minimum
supervision
- Ability to take
initiative and be tactful
- Ability to make
sound decisions based on assessment of information available
- High personal
integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to meet
deadlines whilst meeting conflicting work demands
