Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to drive life
insurance products in the partner distribution network outlets and to execute
Sanlam’s Bancassurance strategy. The role holder will be required to understand
the process of financial analysis and the financial goals of the customers,
while identifying and recommending suitable insurance solutions. They will be
required to position and close sales and thereafter service the relationship..
Primary responsibilities:
- Drive uptake of life insurance policies to the customers
identified.
- Contact customers, schedule and position engagements and carry
out needs analysis.
- Identify sales prospects and follow up on new leads and
referrals resulting from field activity.
- Maintain an optimum number of sales forces to deliver the
planned targets. (Recruitment and management of agents)
- Recommend life insurance products suitable to the needs of the
customer Close life insurance sales by ensuring the customers understand
and accept the proposition, provide all the Fast learner and highly
adaptable relevant documents and make premium payment.
- Deliver policy documents and explain the same to the customers
once the application for insurance has been accepted by the insurance
company. Continuously engage with the customers to evaluate their emerging
needs, to offer suitable solutions for these needs and to ensure that
premiums are paid. Meet the assigned sales revenue budget and achieve the
product penetration ratios.
- Provide regular performance reports to the line manager for
performance evaluation.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualification
- A diploma from a recognized university.
- COP/Insurance accreditation will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Exposure to sales in a financial service industry or
fast-moving consumer goods industry.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to work under pressure and meet set targets.
- Must attain an insurance related professional qualification
within the first year of contract.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, influence and
sell effectively. Customer centricity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication
skills. Fast learner and highly adaptable.
- Presentable and professional at all times.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with the
requisite qualifications, skills and experience.
