Requirements for appointment:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
(M.B., & ChB.) Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
- Have completed 12 months internship period;
- Registered as a Medical Practitioner by Medical Practitioners
and Dentist Council;
- Have a Valid Practicing License;
- Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
- Willing to undertake duties in any part of Tharaka Nithi
County as they will be assigned from time to time;
- Certificate in computer application skills from an institution
recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage
Duties and responsibilities:
The Medical Officer shall be responsible to the
employer and the supervisor for the following:
- Attending to patients in clerking, diagnoses, management and
follow- up;
- Performing medical and surgical procedures;
- Responding to emergencies and disasters;
- Providing health education;
- Maintaining medical records, health information and data;
- Counselling patients and relatives on diagnosis and
bereavement;
- Teaching and coaching Medical students, Medical Officer
Interns, Nursing students and Interns, Clinical Officer students and
interns;
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Successful applicants are expected to get clearance from the following bodies.
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
- Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
- For those with higher education certificates (degrees) from
outside Kenya, a letter of recognition of qualifications from the
Commission of University Education.

certificates and transcripts, National Identity Card or Passport, testimonials
and other relevant supporting documents.
