Job Description
The
IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is tasked with understanding the
organization’s business needs and ensuring IT services are aligned with those
requirements. This role serves as a bridge between the IT department and other
business units, promoting effective communication and maximizing the value
delivered by IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong
relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and
business units.
- Understand and convey business
strategies, goals, and requirements to the IT team.
Strategic Planning:
- Work with business leaders to identify
technology opportunities that support business objectives.
- Engage in strategic planning to ensure IT
aligns with business priorities.
- Assist in creating business cases for IT
projects.
Service Management:
- Ensure IT services meet business needs
and are delivered efficiently.
- Monitor and assess IT service
performance, identifying improvement areas.
- Coordinate with IT service delivery teams
to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
Project Management:
- Oversee IT project delivery, ensuring
alignment with business requirements, timely completion, and budget
adherence.
- Communicate project status, risks, and
issues to stakeholders.
- Facilitate project prioritization and
resource allocation with business and IT leadership.
Change Management:
- Manage the impact of IT changes on
business operations.
- Develop and execute change management
plans for smooth transitions.
- Effectively communicate changes to
business stakeholders.
Risk Management:
- Identify and manage risks related to IT
services and projects.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation
strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant
regulations and policies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and promote process improvements
and innovations.
- Advocate for best practices in IT and
business processes.
- Facilitate feedback loops between
business units and IT to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information
Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT and business
relationship management, project management, business analyst or a related
field.
- Experience in insurance, asset management
and banking is an added advantage
