About the role

The MRV Accounting Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of payments and thorough reconciliation of financial transactions in the MRV department.

This role involves handling daily financial activities, maintaining financial records, and resolving discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data. The Employee shall have the following duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities


Prepare and process daily field allowances for the data Enumerator’s payment runs including electronic funds transfers, and international payments.

Ensure timely preparation of Payment Request Forms (PRFs).

Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors, suppliers, and employees. Verify payment requests and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain records of all payment transactions and related documentation.

Perform timely reconciliations of all payments in compliance with stipulated guidelines. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between PRFs and expense forms.

Ensure payments are supported by valid proof of payments. Prepare and present reconciliation reports for approval.

Liaise with the Finance Team to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of invoices and receipts.

Follow up with the finance dept for timely project funds disbursements, and contractor & supplier payments.

Work with the finance dept or commercial dept cost accountant to prepare & present monthly budget variance reports to MRV managers.

Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.

Project Coordination Support: In collaboration with the Country MRV Coordinators, prepare payrolls for MRV Casuals and Contractors.

Support the MRV team with ad hoc in-project tasks such as task assignments to field teams.

Obtain and maintain HR documentation for all MRV Contractors and Casuals.

Any other tasks as requested by the line manager and/or senior management.

Skills and Experience

Experience in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Dynamics NAV is desirable.

At least 2 years of experience in a business environment, preferably in a related industry.

Experience in Accounting.

Experience in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

At least 2 years of experience in a business environment, preferably MRV-related industry.

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
