The Role
St Andrew’s Senior School is seeking to
appoint a Sports Graduate Assistant who
will assist the Director of Sports and
the House Parent respectively. The Sports Graduate
Assistant key areas of responsibility will be:-
Responsibilities
The overarching responsibilities of a
Sports Graduate Assistant include:
Supporting the School’s Christian ethos as well as
supporting the Chaplaincy team
Reinforcing co-curricular and sporting
provision
Enhancing the pastoral care of students
Administrative duties (e.g. DDT,
Breakfast/Lunch, Walkabouts, Service etc)
Co-curricular and Sport
Coaching of sports teams especially Basketball
for both boys and girls of ages 13 to 19 years old.
Assist in the running of Co-curricular
/sport
Assist in instructing, teaching and coaching
student games during P.E. lessons, practice and competition
Must have experience and understanding
of Basketball.
Participate in the provision of the adventure
program
Support the running of the weekend activities
program
Help with the Service program
Pastoral Care
Work within one of the boarding house teams,
including pastoral duties in the evening and weekends
Act as a role model in all areas to pupils within the
boarding house around the school
Work with Houseparents’ to support
individual pupils as needs arise
Attend a weekly Boarding House team meeting
Assist with registration of students
To support the Houseparent with the admin tasks that
are needed for boarding
Person Specification
Working at St Andrew’s, Turi, is an exciting and

Experience of working in
a School environment, or in boarding, would be desirable, but not
essential. Above all, what matters is a commitment to help us provide
a world-class education for our children. It is essential that the applicant
is a practicing Christian.

Remuneration
There is a generous
overall remuneration package as detailed below
Salary: The successful applicant will be placed
on a reasonable wage salary.
Accommodation: suitable rent
free accommodation within the boarding house will be provided as a taxable
benefit.
Medical care: a comprehensive medical insurance
scheme will be provided for the successful candidate.
Meals: these are provided during term time as a
taxable benefit.
Facilities: extensive sports facilities are
open to use by staff and their families
