Bookkeeper Job in Kenya

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Maintain Financial Records: Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately in accounting software, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

Reconcile Accounts: Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Prepare Financial Reports: Generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide insights into the company’s financial health.

Manage Accounts Receivable and Payable: Monitor accounts receivable  and accounts payable invoices.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations related to financial reporting.

Support Audits: Assist in preparing documentation and providing support during internal and external audits.

Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

CPA certification (preferred but not required)
