Accounting Intern, Finance Team, Job in Kenya - Red Giant Media Agency

Accounting Intern supporting daily finance operations including financial reporting and reconciliations, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of ERP systems, in a media agency environment, on-site role in Nairobi.

Role Overview

  • As an Accounting Intern at Red Giant, you will work full-time from our Nairobi office and gain hands-on experience supporting daily finance operations within a fast-paced creative agency. This internship is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented graduate who is excited to build practical finance skills in an experiential marketing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, schedules, and analyses.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for activations, events, and internal projects.
  • Help manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes (invoicing, tracking, follow-ups, supplier payments support).
  • Support reconciliations (bank, vendor, customer accounts) and maintain proper documentation.
  • Contribute to basic financial modeling and planning for campaigns and agency operations.
  • Use data analysis tools (especially Excel/Google Sheets) to organize data, build summaries, and support reporting.
  • Support compliance documentation related to Kenyan taxes (e.g., VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, eTIMS/ETR support where applicable).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure finance processes align with operational needs.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and presentations as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum grade: B+ and above in academics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (and/or Google Sheets); confidence using formulas and organizing datasets.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a must.
  • Basic understanding of Kenyan tax concepts (VAT, PAYE, WHT) is an added advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior internship/attachment experience or finance-related academic projects is a plus.
