We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly accountable Finance Manager to provide financial leadership, stewardship, and oversight across both NV and CPA. The successful candidate will ensure sound financial management, strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance with statutory and donor requirements, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of both ministries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall stewardship and oversight of all financial resources for CPA and NV operations.
  • Lead the preparation, monitoring, and control of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor effective internal financial controls and compliance systems.
  • Oversee all accounting functions including payroll, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and project accounting.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, Board, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan statutory requirements including PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, Housing Levy, HELB, NITA, and KRA obligations.
  • Coordinate annual audits and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Monitor budget performance through regular Budget-vs-Actual (BVA) analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage banking relationships, cash flow planning, and financial risk management.
  • Provide financial oversight and support in procurement processes, vendor contracts, and major organizational commitments.
  • Support donor reporting, grant compliance, fundraising initiatives, and resource mobilization efforts.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to finance, procurement, and related support staff.
  • Participate actively in strategic planning and organizational sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • CPA (K) qualification is mandatory.
  • Registered member of ICPAK in good standing.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior finance or financial management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial controls, audit coordination, donor reporting, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in a school, NGO, mission-based, or nonprofit environment is an added advantage.
