Warehouse Stock Clerk Job in Nairobi, Kenya - Victoria Court

Victoria Court is hiring a Warehouse Stock Clerk to receive and issue stock, maintain inventory records and support efficient inventory management. The role is based in Nairobi, and experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, stock control, and record keeping is required.

Role Summary

The Warehouse Stock Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by ensuring accurate stock management, efficient loading and receiving of goods, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, conducting stock counts, managing self-collect customers, and monitoring all stock movements to ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Management and Accountability (LMA)

  • Coordinate and oversee the loading and offloading of goods.
  • Verify that all products loaded match the approved delivery documentation.
  • Ensure products are handled safely to prevent damage during loading and unloading.
  • Maintain accurate loading records and report any discrepancies.

Stock Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system.
  • Organize stock to maximize storage space and improve accessibility.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Investigate and report stock variances promptly.

Receiving Goods

  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Verify product quantities and quality before acceptance.
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items immediately.
  • Ensure received goods are accurately recorded and stored in the correct locations.

Monitor and Manage Stock Movements

  • Record all stock transfers, issues, returns, and adjustments accurately.
  • Monitor inventory movement between warehouse and branches.
  • Ensure all stock movements are supported by approved documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies arising from stock movements.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Maintain high standards of warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Ensure storage areas are safe, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Report any maintenance requirements for warehouse equipment and facilities.
  • Promote compliance with workplace health and safety standards.

Stock Counts (Cycle Counts & Spot Checks)

  • Conduct scheduled cycle counts and random spot checks.
  • Reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Identify, investigate, and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Support periodic and annual stock taking exercises.

Managing Self-Collect Customers

  • Prepare customer orders for self-collection.
  • Verify customer documentation before releasing goods.
  • Ensure customers receive the correct products in good condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of all self-collect transactions and resolve collection-related issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • CPA qualified
  • Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Stores Management, Logistics, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse or stock control. 
  • Computer literate with knowledge of inventory management systems. 
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
