Open University of Kenya is recruiting a Students Supervisor – Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership & Policy position. Proficiency in academic supervision, research mentorship, and online engagement is required.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide academic and research supervision to Masters and PhD
candidates.
- Guide candidates in proposal development, research design, data
collection, analysis and thesis writing.
- Mentor candidates through virtual supervision on OUK’s digital
platforms.
- Ensure adherence to OUK’s Graduate Studies Policy, research ethics
and quality standards and other University policies including timelines.
- Provide timely feedback and progress reports as per institutional
guidelines.
- Support preparation for thesis defense and publication of research
outputs.
Qualifications for a PhD
supervisor
- An earned PhD in a relevant field from a recognised institution.
- At least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in the last five
years.
- Strong digital mentoring and online engagement skills to effectively
support learners in virtual environments.
- Familiarity and prior experience with online or virtual supervision
will be an added advantage.
