Our client, a leading transport company committed to delivering efficient and reliable supply chain solutions, is seeking to recruit a highly organized, detail -oriented, and results driven Accountant /Procurement Officer to join our team based in Mombasa.


Reporting Line

Reports to: Chief Accountant

Department: Finance

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for managing the branch financial records while overseeing procurement activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

Role Accountabilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, books of accounts, and supporting documentation.
  • Process invoices, payments and receipts.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory records for the branch.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Manage branch expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant regulations.
  • Source and procure vehicle spare parts, fuel, office supplies, and other operational requirements.
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and quality.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain supplier databases and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory replenishment.
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable procurement regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Support automation and process improvements in finance operations
  • Coordinate with fleet, operations, and management teams to support business activities.
  • Prepare management reports on procurement costs and financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA (K) Part II or above, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Professional qualification in Procurement (CIPS or KISM) is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience, preferably in the transport, logistics, or fleet management industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Good understanding of Kenyan tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
