Accountant, Tax and Compliance, Job in Kenya - Bowmans

Job Purpose:

To ensure full compliance with KRA iTax and statutory tax obligations through accurate reconciliation, reporting, audit support, and coordination of tax‑related activities for the firm and its partners.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Reconciling firm revenue accounts in line with KRA iTax filing requirements.
  • Reconciling and verifying the firm’s expenses in compliance with KRA iTax requirements.
  • iTax tracking and reconciling all entries there on.
  • Preparing and maintaining an up-to-date tax audit file in line with prior audits and emerging changes in KRA audit requirements.

  • Reconciliation of individual partners tax accounts and returns
  • Maintaining and reconciling the various tax and statutory deductions GL accounts including: VAT,Withholding Tax,Income Tax,Withholding VAT,Qualifying interest withholding tax,PAYE
  • Supporting in generating various reports on iTax both routine and ad hoc e.g. PRNs and withholding tax certificates.
  • Prepare month end and ad hoc journals for tax reconciliation adjustments
  • Liaising with the Tax department to update and implement tax changes affecting the firms operations.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Technical Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in tax compliance, tax audit, and statutory reporting
  • Educational Background: Undergraduate Business degree (preferably B. Com -Accounting option)
  • Professional Qualification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Finalist
  • Technological Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and financial accounting packages
