Market Research Intern Job in Kenya - Property Depot

Job Purpose

The Marketing & Outreach Intern will play a crucial role in building the foundation of our industry network. The intern will be responsible for researching and creating a verified, comprehensive database of key experts across the Kenyan real estate industry. This role supports our strategic goal of becoming Kenya’s leading property brand by connecting our clients with essential support services. The position offers hands-on experience in market research, data management, and B2B marketing outreach within the dynamic real estate sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research to identify experts across the Real Estate Value Chain, e.g., legal experts, valuers, interior designers, construction companies, civil engineers, property developers, investors, etc.
  • Source and verify accurate contact details (email, phone, company, area of specialisation) to ensure database quality.
  • Compile, categorise, and maintain data in a structured, accessible format (e.g., spreadsheets, CRM).
  • Assist in segmenting the database for tailored email marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in the creation of initial outreach email templates for email marketing
  • Provide regular progress reports on database growth and research findings.

Education


  • A diploma or degree in Real Estate, Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and the sales funnel.
  • Familiarity with the Kenyan real estate or professional services landscape is a strong added advantage.

Essential Skills:

  • Research Skills: Proficiency in using online tools (LinkedIn, company directories, professional bodies) to find and verify information.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is critical for building a high-quality, reliable database.
  • Organisational skills: Ability to categorise, manage, and present large sets of data clearly.
  • Clear Written Communication: Ability to draft professional and concise correspondence.
  • Initiative & Proactivity: A self-starter who can conduct research independently and propose new avenues for investigation.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) is required.
  • Familiarity with CRM software or email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) is a significant plus.
  • Experience or coursework in market research, data management, or digital marketing is beneficial.
