The Junior Accountant will handle daily financial tasks, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports. They will also assist with tax and audit processes to maintain accurate financial data and ensure compliance.

- Senior Accountants: They will provide guidance and support for
accounting tasks.
- Finance Managers: They oversee the finance team and ensure
financial operations run smoothly.
- Internal & External Auditors: Collaborate during audits to ensure compliance.
- Tax Specialists: Work together for accurate tax filings and
compliance.
- Department Managers: Collaborate on budgeting and tracking
departmental expenses.
- Suppliers/Vendors: Handle accounts payable and payment processes.
- HR: Coordinate
payroll and benefits accounting.
- Banks: Assist with reconciliations and payment
processing.
- Regulatory Bodies (e.g., KRA): Ensure tax compliance and filing
requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Ensure correct invoices for customers have been
raised and correct vendor bills have been processed within the credit
terms/contract vendor payment
- Financial Reports: Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and
annual financial statements.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage invoice processing, and payments, and
reconcile accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements with
accounting records and resolve discrepancies.
- Tax Preparation: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting
standards, regulations, and company policies, and prepare and file tax
returns accurately and on time.
- Auditing: Support internal and external audits by
organizing financial documents.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties such as
filing, organizing documents, and responding to inquiries on the support
ticketing system, including petty cash management.
- Internal Controls: Support the organization in maintaining the
reliability and integrity of financial information through adherence to
established policies, procedures, and controls by understanding and
actively participating in internal control processes.
- Assisting Senior Accountants: Provide backup and support for senior accounting
staff.
Requirements
Skills Required:
- Accounting Software: Proficiency in Accounting tool- NetSuite
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in financial transactions and account
reconciliation.
- Kenyan Tax Knowledge: Understanding of VAT, WHT, PAYE, corporate tax
laws, and KRA processes.
- Bookkeeping: Ability to manage and record financial
transactions and maintain ledgers.
- Analytical Skills: Review and interpret financial data to spot
discrepancies.
- Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines, especially
during key periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for interacting
with team members.
- Organization: Manage large volumes of financial data
efficiently.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues in financial records
Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA
(Kenya) certification is a prerequisite.
- Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in accounting
with experience in accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation,
reporting, and payroll.
- Accounting Standards: Familiarity with IFRS and Kenyan financial
standards.
- Auditing: Exposure to internal or external audits.
- Tax Knowledge: Experience with VAT, WHT, PAYE, and KRA
tax filings.
