This is a contract role for someone who can help us communicate consistently, clearly, and beautifully. You will work closely with our leadership team to turn complex work into content that people can understand, feel, and act on, while ensuring our storytelling is consent-based, dignified, and aligned with the realities of safety in LGBTQIA+ movements.

What you will do
Content and channels
- Create, schedule, and moderate social media content that aligns with
The Home Fund’s tone, values, and priorities.
- Support calls for applications, announcements, and key
communications moments.
- Draft newsletters and donor updates for review and approval.
- Update and maintain website content so key pages stay current and
accurate.
- Maintain a simple content calendar so we stay consistent and can
plan ahead.
Storytelling
and documentation
- Capture stories from partners and grantees in written, photo, and
light video formats (with clear consent and safety considerations).
- Draft short case studies and impact stories for the website, social
media, reports, and presentations.
- Support the team to document learning and impact in simple,
accessible formats.
Design
and production support
- Format presentations, reports, and public-facing documents, keeping
them clean, consistent, and on brand.
- Work with external designers or editors where needed and help manage
feedback loops.
- Keep a tidy asset library (photos, logos, templates) so the team can
find and reuse materials easily.

- A steady cadence of high-quality, approved content that improves
visibility and clarity.
- Strong storytelling outputs that reflect dignity, consent, and
safety.
- A website and social presence that feels current, credible, and
aligned with our mission.
- Clean, consistent formatting that makes the Fund feel trustworthy
and investment-ready.
- Smooth internal workflows so content is easy to request, review,
approve, and publish.
Who you are
Essential
- Strong writing and editing skills and an ability to adapt tone for
different audiences.
- Confidence creating content for social media and websites.
- Basic photo and light video capture and editing skills (phone-based
is fine).
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working to feedback and
deadlines.
- Good judgment about consent, privacy, and risk, especially when
telling sensitive stories.
Desirable
- Previous experience in managing social media channels and content
creation for an organisation.
- Experience telling stories about social impact, human rights,
feminist organising, or LGBTQIA+ movements.
- Familiarity with simple design tools (for example Canva) and basic
website CMS tools.
- Experience supporting communications in a remote team or early-stage
organisation.
