Assistant Office Administrator III Job in Kenya - The Nyali School

The Assistant Office Administrator III reports to the School Main Office and works closely with all members, staff, parents, guardians, and learners by providing information and support when required. The Assistant Office Admin III role is highly visible and varied, providing a comprehensive and confidential high-level administrative role in support of the school’s mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: taking oral dictation; word and data processing; managing e-office; ensuring security of office records, documents and equipment; maintaining an up-to-date filing system in the office; operating office equipment; managing office protocol; managing office petty cash; handling telephone calls and appointments; supervising office cleanliness; and undertaking any other office administrative services duties that may be assigned.

Requirements for Appointment


  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, mean grade C- (minus) with at least C (plain) in English or Kiswahili Language or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC); OR
  • Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) from the Kenya National Examinations Council in the following subjects:-
    • Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.) / Computerised Document Processing III;
    • Shorthand II (80 w.p.m.);
    • Business English II / Communications I;
    • Office Practice II;
    • Secretarial Duties II;
    • Commerce II;
    • Office Management III / Office Administration and Management III;
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and (iv) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results. Skills/Competencies
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills and a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to multi-task and maturity to handle a range of situations.
  • Outstanding oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong personality, team player, with a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous and thorough.
  • An understanding of corporate governance protocol.
  • Highly developed organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
