Key Duties and Responsibilities
- In liaison with the Project Officer, Monitoring
& Evaluation Officer and Field Officer prepare source documents for
entry by compiling and sorting information; and establishing entry
priorities
- Review and verify source documents from the
Community Health promoters(CHPs), Peer mentors, Health Facilities for
discrepancies; by using standard operating procedures (SOPs), and
returning incomplete documents to the CHPs, peer monitors and Health Facilities
for resolution.
- Enter and account data by inputting information
in the database provided by the P.O. Monitoring & Evaluation Officer,
and according to the Procedures.
- Maintain data entry requirements by following
data management techniques and procedures.
- Verify data entries by reviewing, correcting,
deleting, or reentering data; purging files to eliminate duplication of
data; and comparing it to source documents.
- Retrieve data from the database or electronic
files as requested
- In liaison with P.O. Monitoring & Evaluation
Officer Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation Sort and
organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
- Maintain data management operations by following
data management policies and procedures; and keeping information
confidential.
- Represent the project/Y+ Kenya in meetings,
forums, seminars, conferences, and related meetings locally, regionally
and nationally and as necessary, including with policy makers in line with
the project.
- Assist in compilation of monthly, quarterly,
semi-annual, annual and ad-hoc program reports.
- Undertake any other duty as assigned
Minimum
Requirements
- Minimum of a Diploma in applied statistics,
health records and information technology or equivalent
- Proven experience in undertaking data entry and
managing key population data for NGO
- Devotion to thoroughness and accuracy, attention
to detail, ability to work in a team setting.
- Speedy, accurate data entry skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical
records and observe good clinical practice.
- Basic skills in data analysis using Ms Excel,
SPSS, STATA, SAS
- Should be a person of high integrity
- Be able to work with professionalism and minimal
supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet
deadlines.
The position involves the need to provide technical
support in data management. There
may be periods that require the jobholder to work odd hours when necessary to
meet
deadlines or respond to specific situations.
