Responsible for delivering preventive, promotive, and basic curative oral health services, especially in community and rural settings, while observing the acceptable standards of operation.

Academic Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ post-internship experience 
  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience in community outreach programs, school dental health programs, or mobile dental clinics is an added advantage.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene, oral health, and infection prevention and control.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems).

Desired Competencies


  • Ability to perform basic dental procedures (examinations, extractions, prophylaxis, fluoride application).
  • Strong knowledge of oral disease prevention, health education, and community mobilization.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with rural or underserved populations.
