The Internship aims to provide the intern with hands-on experience in Financial Management and Administrative Operations while supporting the organization’s Finance and Administration Department. The intern will be expected to provide efficient and effective accounting, bookkeeping and admin support services in helping the overall sound implementation of the functions of the Secretariat.
Specific duties and responsibilities of the finance
intern.
Book Keeping & Accounting
- Matching & analyzing payment documents
- Support in preparing payment vouchers
- Support in keeping records for stationery and office
consumables
Office Administration Operations and Asset Management
- Archive financial information; filing payment vouchers
systematically and other documents in their respective files
- Arrangement of the store
- Support in various office administration duties as assigned
- Periodic review& reporting of the condition of assets,
verification and updating the asset register
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Assessing accuracy and completeness documents
- Support preparing cashbooks
- Supporting conducting periodic asset inventories and records
reconciliation
- Support grant reporting & preparations
- General support including document reviewing, budget analysis
and
- project information and communication as may be advised
- Delegation or sharing of duties with others as necessary
Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in accounting/finance or CPA (On going) preferably a
final year student or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Business
Administration, Economics
- Basic Knowledge of Accounting principles and Financial
Documentation
- Fluent in oral and writing English (Scored at least a B+ in
KCSE or Equivalent)
- Exceptional analytical skills (scored at least a B+ in
MathematicsKCSE)
- Experience or Coursework in Asset Management is an Added
Advantage
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and computer literate
