Our client who is in the cosmetics industry is seeking a Finance & Operations officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial management, accounting, and operational functions to ensure efficiency, compliance, and profitability. This role involves managing budgeting and reporting processes, maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing operational workflows, and ensuring proper inventory and procurement management.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Maintain a proper filing system for all accounting and financial documents.
  • Record all financial transactions in the accounting system, including petty cash, supplier invoices, customer invoices, and bank payments.
  • Monitor and ensure timely collection of payments from customers and prompt payment to suppliers.
  • Manage inventory by acting as the custodian of office stock and conducting regular physical stocktakes.
  • Process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and invoices as required.
  • Prepare and manage monthly cash control reports.
  • Handle tax compliance, including filing VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) returns.
  • Update and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the finance function.
  • Maintain fixed asset and other relevant registers.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports, including income statements, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.

Procurement – Imports/Exports (Added Advantage)


  • Maintain proper filing of import and export documentation.
  • Process basic import permits such as IDF, PPB, KEBS, and PHS, as well as insurance documentation.
  • Assist in following up, receiving, and inspecting consignments.
  • Ensure smooth logistics and timely delivery of imported and exported products.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with business partners, external stakeholders, government agencies, tax authorities, inspection institutions, and clearing agents.
  • Support in developing and implementing an effective procurement plan to prevent stock shortages or product expiries.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA (K) qualification or equivalent professional certification is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or operations — experience in the cosmetics or FMCG industry is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience in inventory and procurement management.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
