The Role
We’re
seeking a Finance Manager to lead
and strengthen our financial operations across Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and new
markets. The role combines financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and
process control, requiring a results-driven professional who can turn insights
into growth and investor confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial
Operations & Reconciliations
- Manage daily reconciliations across Mobile
Money, bank, card, and fund manager accounts.
- Oversee payments, payroll, expense management,
and salary allocations.
- Maintain accurate ledgers and ensure audit-ready
financial records.
- Ensure data integrity between transactional
platforms and the accounting system.
Reporting
& Planning
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L,
Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
management to ensure healthy liquidity and capital efficiency.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and
performance insights for leadership and investors.
- Partner with product and operations teams to
track and improve business KPIs
Compliance, Controls & Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and
statutory requirements in all markets (KRA, URA, and others).
- Coordinate external audits and manage regulatory
relationships.
- Strengthen internal financial controls, approval
processes, and accounting policies.
Systems
& Process Improvement
- Manage accounting tools (Xero and related
systems) and drive automation for reconciliations and reporting.
- Continuously improve finance SOPs to support
scale and efficiency.
- Lead implementation of scalable finance
automation tools to support multi-market expansion.
- Strategic & Commercial Support
- Support leadership in evaluating new products,
pricing models, and market expansion opportunities.
- Provide financial models and insights that
inform key business decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a
related field (CPA or ACCA preferred).
- 2–4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or
audit — ideally within fintech, tech, or multi-market businesses.
- Strong background in reconciliations, reporting,
compliance, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in accounting tools such as Xero,
Excel, and BI dashboards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and
communication skills.
