As the Community Outreach Assistant, you will play a vital role in fostering strong partnerships between the Victory Farms and local landowners by identifying suitable locations for ponds and novel projects. This position requires a proactive and approachable individual who can effectively communicate the benefits of collaboration, guide partners through agreement processes, and ensure mutual understanding of partnership terms. As the assistant you will acts as a bridge connecting community needs with organizational goals, ensuring smooth and transparent engagement that support sustainable development initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough identification and mapping of
potential plots suitable for pond construction and innovative community
projects, considering environmental and social factors.
- Initiate contact with plot owners to build
rapport, effectively communicate the value and mutual benefits of entering
into a partnership with the organization.
- Facilitate the partnership process by
coordinating meetings where plot owners can review and, if agreeable, sign
letters of interest to formalize their involvement.
- Clearly and patiently explain all sections of
the partnership contract, addressing any questions or concerns to ensure
partners fully comprehend their rights and obligations before signing.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions,
agreements, and follow-ups to sustain transparent relationships and
project tracking.
Skills and qualifications:
- Degree in Community Science, Social Work,
Environmental Science, or a related field; alternatively, a strong sales
background with demonstrated community engagement experience may be
considered.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and
written.
- Fluency in the local language to engage
effectively with community members and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a
team.
- Resilience and adaptability to handle pressure,
shifting priorities, and various tasks as required by community dynamics.
- Flexibility to accommodate varied working hours,
including weekends and early mornings, to meet community and project
needs.
