Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting
to the Presiding Officer, the POLLING/COUNTING
CLERK will carry out the following
duties;
- Assist in laying out of the polling station and
counting room.
- Demarcate and display posters at the polling
station.
- Control queues and guide voters to respective
polling station.
- Confirm that a voter has not voted by inspecting
their fingers for indelible marks.
- Identify voters before allowing them to vote.
- Issue stamped ballot papers to voters duly
identified in the register of voters.
- Assist the Presiding Officer with the sorting of
votes after voting as part of counting
- Perform any other official duties as may be
assigned by the Presiding officer.
Job Requirements
Requirements for Appointment
- Kenyan citizen of high integrity, and be
non-partisan;
- KCSE Aggregate C- and above;
- Must be of good character and;
- Must be available for the entire period of the
exercise; and
- Resident of the Constituency/County Assembly
Ward in which they apply for.
Wages
Polling
Clerks/Counting Clerks will be paid Kshs. 1,000 per
day
