Job Summary
The Finance Specialist – SPV Management
is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting
and asset management for Chancen’s Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) that hold
Income Share Agreement (ISA) assets. This role focuses on fund-level control
and reporting, investor servicing, regulatory compliance, and audit support, in
collaboration with the CFO, legal counsel, and external fund administrators and
auditors.
The role requires a highly analytical finance professional with a strong
understanding of investment structures, asset-backed funding, and cross-border
regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Accounting and Reporting for
SPVs
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records
     for Chancen’s SPVs in line with IFRS and local GAAP.
 - Ensure that all journal entries, ledger
     balances, and reconciliations are properly maintained and validated.
 - Prepare annual financial statements for SPVs in
     accordance with applicable accounting standards and board timelines.
 - Coordinate quarterly and annual board packs with
     summarized financial reports and notes.
 
Audit Preparation and Management
- Lead the audit process for Chancen SPVs by
     coordinating with external auditors, internal teams, and board
     representatives.
 - Prepare and manage audit schedules, support
     documents, and management letters.
 - Respond to audit queries and implement audit
     recommendations.
 - Ensure timely submission of audited financials
     to relevant stakeholders, including investors and regulators.
 
Tax and Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of tax
     obligations for each SPV (e.g., corporate income tax, withholding, VAT
     where applicable).
 - Coordinate with tax consultants and internal
     stakeholders to ensure accurate tax filings and efficient tax structuring.
 - Manage relationships with revenue authorities or
     third-party tax advisors as needed.
 
Treasury and Bank Account Management
- Ensure proper reconciliation of SPV bank
     accounts (including capital call, disbursement, and return accounts).
 - Review and authorize payment schedules in
     coordination with fund operations teams.
 - Monitor liquidity at the SPV level and flag cash
     flow risks to the CFO.
 
Governance and Compliance
- Prepare and maintain board meeting materials,
     resolutions, and financial summaries.
 - Ensure that all statutory documents and filings
     are maintained in good order and submitted on time.
 - Liaise with the Company Secretary to ensure
     timely filing of company returns, annual reports, and other
     governance-related deliverables.
 
Support on Fund Structuring and
Consolidation
- Support the CFO and legal counsel in structuring
     new SPVs and integrating them into group reporting processes.
 - Assist in mapping SPV financials to group charts
     of accounts to enable consolidated reporting.
 - Provide technical input into the valuation, fair
     value adjustment, and impairment assessments where required.
 
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a
     related field. CPA/ACCA qualification required.
 - 5+ years of experience in financial reporting,
     audit coordination, or SPV accounting, ideally in a fund management,
     microfinance, or financial services setting.
 - Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory audit
     preparation.
 - Experience with multi-entity group structures,
     including offshore SPVs and holding companies.
 - Comfortable working with cross-jurisdictional
     regulations and stakeholder expectations (e.g., investors, boards,
     regulators).
 - Excellent attention to detail, time management,
     and professional communication.
