Helen Keller International is conducting a formative study to strengthen nutrition practices among caregivers of children aged 6–23 months through improved complementary feeding. The study aims to inform the development of food-based recommendations and behaviour change strategies using participatory research methods. We are currently looking for suitable candidates on short term basis to fill the positions of enumerator to assist in collecting data in Samburu East Sub-County, Samburu County.
ENUMERATORS - QUANTITATIVE
The
Enumerator will be engaged for a maximum of 15 days (5 days training November
10th – 14th November 2025, 5 days data collection, 17th – 21st November 2025
and 5 days data collection end of January 2025 TBC). Enumerators will be
reporting to the supervisor and their respective study team leader depending on
the task assigned.
Responsibilities
- Participate in comprehensive training and data
collection including a market survey exercise and compiling a key foods
list.
- Ensure readiness of all data collection tools
and supplies before field deployment.
- Administer surveys using Survey CTO.
- Ensure accurate sampling of markets and vendors
as per the approved protocol.
- Uphold data quality standards and
confidentiality of respondent information.
- Liaise with team leaders and supervisors for
quality assurance and support.
- Any other duties assigned by the Team leader or
Supervisor
Qualifications and skills required:
- Minimum Diploma in Nutrition, Public Health,
Statistics, or related health sciences.
- Experience conducting structured household or
market surveys
- Proficiency in digital data collection platforms
(e.g., Survey CTO, KoboToolbox, ODK).
- Fluent in English, Kiswahili, and the local
Samburu dialect.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and
organizational skills.
- Must be available full-time for the full
duration of training and data collection.
- Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision.
- Prior research or fieldwork experience in
maternal and child health, nutrition, or community-based studies is an
added asset.
- Basic knowledge of Excel, SPSS, or Stata is an
added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work on strict
deadlines.
- Preference will be given to candidates from the
study area.
