Easy Housing is looking for a Project Management Intern in Nairobi! At Easy Housing, we provide sustainable, social and scalable housing in Kenya and Uganda. Our circular, biobased homes are affordable, store CO₂, and create local jobs.
We have
recently opened an office in Kenya. To further develop the market potential in
Kenya, we are expanding our team with a Project Management Intern with
experience in (timber) construction.
Job Activities.
- As Project Management Intern in Kenya, you will
be responsible for the following activities in collaboration with our
experienced project managers:
- Handle the procurement of materials for the
factory and site works
- Oversee and direct construction projects from
prefabrication till placement
- Oversee on site and off site constructions to
monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
- Coordinate and direct carpentry team and
subcontractors
- Maintaining tools, materials and equipment and
track inventory
- Review the work progress on daily basis
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining
to project status
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any
emerging ones
- Ensure quality construction standards and the
use of proper construction techniques
- Work closely together with other project
managers and carpenters
Requirements:
- BS degree in construction management,
architecture, engineering or related field
- Practical experience in (timber) construction
and project management is a big plus
- Knowledge of construction management processes,
means and methods
- Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and
quality standards in construction
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Affinity with sustainable and affordable housing
- Fluency in English and Swahili
- Based in Nairobi, but open to working on
projects in different regions in Kenya
