Job Purpose

The Youth Field Officer will be responsible for leading field activities that directly support youth farmers in Tupande’s selected operational zones. This includes mobilization, enrollment, training, and ongoing support of youth farmers. The role requires an individual who can build trust, demonstrate leadership, and effectively engage with youth while also driving the adoption of Tupande products and services.

The Youth Field Officer serves as a critical link between the organization and the community, ensuring that Tupande’s mission and programs are implemented successfully at the grassroots level.

Key Responsibilities

Youth Mobilization and Engagement


  • Actively mobilize young people within the designated zones to join Tupande programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with youth groups, local leaders, and community influencers.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, sensitization events, and information sessions to attract and engage youth farmers.
  • Identify and nurture youth champions who can further promote Tupande’s initiatives within their networks.

Enrollment of Youth Farmers

  • Recruit youth farmers into Tupande’s programs through a structured enrollment process.
  • Conduct enrollment activities in a professional and transparent manner while ensuring inclusivity and fairness.
  • Capture accurate farmer data using digital tools such as tablets and smartphones.
  • Maintain updated enrollment records and reports for submission to the central team.

Training and Capacity Building

  • Deliver structured training sessions to youth farmers, covering Tupande’s agricultural practices, products, and services.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer learning and practical demonstrations that encourage adoption of improved farming methods.
  • Use participatory training approaches that resonate with young people and foster active learning.
  • Ensure training content is effectively communicated in the local language for maximum understanding and impact.

Field Support and Farmer Follow-Up

  • Provide regular support and guidance to enrolled youth farmers throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Monitor the progress of youth farmers in adopting Tupande practices and products.
  • Conduct routine field visits to ensure that farmers are implementing the techniques taught during training.
  • Collect feedback from farmers and communicate emerging issues or challenges to the central Tupande team.

Sales and Promotion of Tupande Products

  • Actively recruit and sell Tupande products to youth farmers.
  • Demonstrate product benefits and provide accurate information to support adoption.
  • Meet or exceed set sales targets through effective field marketing strategies.
  • Report sales activities and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.

Data Collection and Reporting

  • Utilize digital platforms to collect and update data on enrollment, training, farmer adoption, and sales activities.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports detailing progress, challenges, and success stories.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with Tupande’s policies.

Community Representation

  • Represent Tupande in local forums, youth gatherings, and community events.
  • Uphold the organization’s values and act as an ambassador for Tupande in all engagements.
  • Foster positive relationships with community stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, and youth-serving organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Certificate.
  • Proven experience in field sales.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools such as tablets and smartphones.
  • Fluency in the local language of the designated zone.
  • Residency within Tupande’s selected operational zones.
