Our
client, is a Wildlife Conservancy located in Kenya, is seeking a highly
motivated and experienced Tourism Coordinator.
The Tourism Coordinator serves as the operational and strategic bridge between the organisation and the five independently operated safari lodges within its ecosystem. This role is pivotal in harmonizing tourism operations, coordinating guest experiences, innovating tourism offerings, and aligning all tourism-related activities with the organisation’s conservation-focused mission. While working closely with internal departments such as Development Communications, the Tourism Coordinator ensures the delivery of immersive, conservation-aligned guest experiences that promote sustainability, community engagement, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Tourism Coordination & Lodge Liaison
- Act as the primary liaison between the
Conservancy and all partner lodges, ensuring continuous dialogue and
collaboration.
- Lead the implementation of the organisation’s
2025 Tourism Management Plan.
- Facilitate structured and timely sharing of
information among all tourism stakeholders.
- Coordinate joint planning and delivery of
tourism events, initiatives, and experiences.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with
lodges, air operators, and tourism-related partners.
- Act as a central point of contact for
collaborative tourism efforts.
- Ensure lodge activities align with the
organisation’s values and strategic objectives.
Marketing & Storytelling
- Collaborate with the Communications Department
and the lodge marketing teams to design aligned tourism campaigns.
- Support content development that reinforces the
organisation’s conservation narrative.
- Represent the organisation in tourism forums and
develop digital and print promotional materials.
Guest Experience Management
- Ensure high-quality, consistent, and meaningful
guest experiences across all lodges.
- Develop tools to capture and integrate guest
feedback for continual improvement.
- Drive initiatives that enhance visitor
engagement in conservation efforts.
Tourism Product Innovation
- Spearhead the creation and enhancement of
unique, conservation-centered tourism products.
- Identify new trends and opportunities to
diversify tourism offerings.
- Support the development of behind-the-scenes
activities and immersive experiences.
Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting
- Monitor tourism data to identify trends, gaps,
and growth opportunities.
- Develop reports and recommendations to inform
strategic decisions and drive occupancy.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tourism,
eco-tourism, hospitality, or related fields, preferably within a
conservation-focused setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Tourism marketing and brand
alignment.
- Event management, including
coordination of high-profile and behind-the-scenes tourism experiences.
- Communication skills, both written
and verbal, with the ability to convey complex conservation narratives to
diverse audiences.
- Tourism product development and
innovation, especially in line with conservation and guest engagement.
- Strong ability to manage
multi-stakeholder relationships and deliver collaborative projects.
